MSP430-JTAG adapter for Texas Instruments microcontrollers

MSP430-JTAG is low cost programmer & debugger for all Texas Instruments MSP430xx microcontrollers. Programmer connected to PC via LPT port and can works with any software, which supports TI-MSP430-FET.

Features

• program all MSP430Fxxx flash microcontrollers (note: parallel port JTAG doesn't support Spy-Bi-Wire devices as timing from parallel port can't meet programming specs)
• uses TI standard 2x7 pin JTAG connector
• MSP430-JTAG is100% compliant to Texas Instruments MSP430-FET, so it will works with any package which supports TI-MSP430-FET
• no need for external power supply, all power is taken from the LPT port
• MSP430-JTAG has build-in target board voltage follower and the JTAG voltage levels follow MSP430 target board voltage, so target may be powered with voltage between 2.7 and 3.6 V (if the target voltage is under 2.7V Flash memory can’t be programmed). But please note that LPT port can source low current 2..3mA
• compatible with IAR Kickstart software for programming, real time emulation, debugging, step by step program execution, breakpoints, memory dump etc everything all high priced emulators do
• with IAR Kickstart you can write in assembler unlimited code size and to write in C with 2K limit for all MSP430 microcontrollers
• works with free GCC C compiler and Insight MSP430 toolchain and debugger

• MSP430 JTAG drivers Ver.1.034 - 24-APR-2009 add support for all devices released by TI to April 2009 +Vista32 support
• MSP430 Kick Start C compiler and debugger (free for assembly language, limited for C)
• MSPGCC - free C compiler and debugger
